The canvas is blank but new possibilities await. Splashes of colour spring alive while impressionable lines shape the negative space. Under the spotlight's watchful eye, he shape shifts between places. Awakened by the day, side by side with the light's rays. Each morning breathes a moment and in it, another chance to create.
It starts with a blank slate – of body, of mind. Layer upon layer, Hang is sculpted into all the forms he holds. From intricate patterns designed to push the order forward to two-toned pieces that fail to grow old, Toni Caroline’s styling sets the staging. Her eye is that of an artist with careful attention to crisp contours and clean compositions. Through complementary colour combinations, Hang is in direct harmony with his surroundings, for even opposition can balance.
Attention between distant worlds shapes the character below. Each thread relates to the roots of a man and traces a map of the soul. The familiar mixes with the undefined like two unrestricted lanes without a fear of pace. They swerve into one another, reliving memories that have yet to be made. On this intimate plane, Hang is malleable like clay and shapes into something else just before the heat escaping from Katy Thomas’ camera solidifies him.
Through the scope of her lens, Katy defines the shadows and surprise within every frame. Each object within sight receives a chance to inform the narrative whether it is the upturned brim of a defiant Levi’s bucket hat or the often-denied underside of an overturned chair. And within these final forms, a composition remains. To the depths of all that's known, he will open the door. After all has been absorbed, it’s time to come home with shoes slung.
